Meet the yoga instructors

Dana grew up in Richmond and has practiced yoga for twelve years, recently using its techniques to help rehabilitate herself following an accident in 2007. This experience led her to pursue teacher training and Dana has been teaching individuals and groups since 2008. She enjoys greater flexibility, strength, and balance as a result of practicing yoga and wants to impart those skills to her students. She especially enjoys the inner peace and sense of connection that the practice of yoga on and off the mat can provide. In addition to teaching group classes in the community, she also instructs on a private one-on-one basis (www.rvayogatogo.com). ;

Dana is certified at the 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) level with Yoga Alliance and is working toward her 500-hour certification with Rolf Gates. She believes that anyone can practice yoga. Dana's style is best described as Hatha-Vinyasa, and she also enjoys teaching Restorative Yoga. Dana lives in Richmond with her husband and her two dogs and enjoys working out, reading, vegetarian cooking, gardening, and riding her scooter.

Bonnijean Boggess is an AFAA certified group exercise professional.  She began teaching aerobic dance while a student at James Madison University and has never stopped.  Always an avid dance exercise enthusiast, pregnancies and injuries forced her to pursue a lower-impact form of exercise and her love of yoga was born. Bonnijean has been leading yoga practices in the Richmond area since 2000.  She teaches at area YMCA locations, is part of the Owens + Minor Corporate fitness team and participates in the DCAC Fitness Professional Conference.  Her hatha style yoga classes are designed for "Every Body" including special populations.
