Meet the yoga and pilates instructors
Bonnijean Boggess is currently instructing the Thursday night yoga class at Back In Action. Bonnijean is an AFAA certified group exercise professional.
She began teaching aerobic dance while a student at James Madison University
and has never stopped. Always an avid dance
exercise enthusiast, pregnancies and injuries forced her to pursue a
lower-impact form of exercise and her love of yoga was born. Bonnijean has been leading yoga practices in the Richmond area
since 2000. She teaches at area YMCA locations, is part of the Owens
+ Minor Corporate fitness team and participates in the DCAC Fitness Professional
Conference. Her hatha style yoga classes are designed for "Every Body"
including special populations.
Julia Rossi holds a BFA in Dance from Florida State University. She is a Pilates mat instructor (certified through Power Pilates in NYC) and certified personal trainer. She has been in the fitness profession for the past 9 years; helping clients to improve posture and body alignment through Pilates. Much of her keen eye for postural analysis comes from many years of dance training; Julia was a professional modern dancer in NYC. Julia and her husband moved to Richmond two years ago after having a baby; returning to her “southern suburban roots”. Julia also currently teaches for Stroller Strides in addition to Pilates mat classes.
Leah Cafaro Husk ( and Mae West, her dog) is an AFPA
certified Personal Trainer, an AFAA certified Group Exercise Instructor and a
Biometrics certified Strength Training and Nutritional Coach.She owns and operates Fitness, Health & Wellness, specializing in corporate fitness
and is the creator of Yoga Latte, a
yoga and Pilates fusion class using sponge balls and resistance bands.Leah is also a presenter for The DCAC
International Fitness Conferences.

Daina Cockrell has over fifteen years experience in physical education and body movement. Her extensive training includes classes and workshops at Pilobolus Dance Theater, Duke University, University of Maryland, George Mason University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Omega Institute and Aerial Dance Festivals. She also attended Pilates of Boulder (Colorado), where she learned applications of Pilates to professional dance moves. She has been studying Pilates since 1998 and became certified in Stott Pilates in 2001.
Daina is the president and director of the Callao, Virginia based dance company Renaissance in Motion, Inc. She also runs the Charisma Dance Company, which she formed in 2002. Charisma Dance Company conducts performances and fund raising benefits for community service organizations. Currently, Daina trains at VCU and the Richmond Ballet.
Jacqueline Gooding received her certification as a registered yoga instructor from Glenmore Yoga in 2005 with studies for her 500 hrs currently ongoing and has taught for more than two years. Prior to obtaining her certification she practiced avidly for many years beginning in her teens. Her studies have included Hatha, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa and Viniyoga to name only a few. Her first formal training was with J.W. Cruise who was personally trained by Swami Vishnu Devananda. She continues to deepen her practice with Kelly Trask, a Viniyoga teacher trained under Gary Kraftsow, Lilias Folan, Nancy Tatum and other reknowned teachers. Her Yoga is a combined style and also utilizes her training as a Massage Therapist and Reflexologist.
